Question 1: What about conditions that apply to segments and contexts?

Some of these conditions are very similar to the conditions that define contexts. What's the difference? While contexts apply only to the current page, segments apply to all available historical information, including the current request.

Examples

Let's say we want to show content to customer who have an interest in a particular product, the Super Pogo Stick. We could use the product when we define the segment or the context.

Segment: If we set the segment to include all customer who have viewed the Super Pogo Stick in the last 30 days:

  • Customer will be included in the segment while viewing the Super Pogo Stick, or if they have viewed this product anytime in the last 30 days.
  • These customers might see the content on any page on the site.

Context: If we use the Super Pogo Stick product as the context:

  • Customer will only see that content when they are on the Super Pogo Stick item page.
